Grandpa's Shed

Memory from Juliane Marie (daughter of Janiece Whittington, whose father was Wayne Leroy Whittington).

I remember spending time in Grandpa's shed. I'm dating this to around when I was about 10 years old, because that is approximately when I have the clearest of these memories....though this took place for years).

He had a workbench set up and allowed the grandkids (I remember my siblings and sometimes cousins doing this together) to spend time in there, with random wood pieces, hammers, and nails, and letting us create whatever we wanted to, with this scrap wood.  I can remember the path from the back door of their house  (grandpa Wayne Leroy Whittington and Beulah Ann Whittington (Lane), and the beautiful pasture you could see behind their house, that was home to some horses.  I can still hear the sounds of our hammers going and the creations we came up with.  He always seemed so proud of our masterpieces.

Grandpa tried to be as involved a grandpa, as he could be more. It was always evident to me how much he loved his family.
